4. Areas of Operation
The Online Store primarily offers its products and services within Hungary and Austria.

The shipping options and delivery charges displayed in the Online Store always reflect the conditions applicable at the time the order is placed.
5. Available Languages
The Online Store is available in the following languages:
- Hungarian;
- English;
- German.
The Seller makes every reasonable effort to ensure that all language versions are substantively identical.
In the event of any discrepancy arising from translation between different language versions, the Hungarian version shall prevail, unless otherwise required by mandatory applicable law.
6. Electronic Contract Formation
An order placed through the Online Store constitutes an offer by the Customer to conclude a purchase agreement electronically.
The purchase agreement is concluded only upon the Seller’s express acceptance of the Customer’s offer.
The automatic order confirmation sent after an order has been placed merely acknowledges receipt of the order by the Seller’s system. It does not constitute acceptance of the Customer’s offer and does not create a binding contract.
The language of the contract shall be the language selected by the Customer when placing the order.
7. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
Acceptance of these T&C is a prerequisite for placing an order.
By selecting the relevant checkbox during the checkout process, the Customer confirms that they have:
- read these T&C;
- understood their contents; and
- accepted them as legally binding.
Without accepting these T&C, the order cannot be completed.
8. Amendments to these Terms and Conditions
The Seller reserves the right to amend these T&C, including, but not limited to, the following circumstances:
- changes in applicable legislation;
- compliance with legal or regulatory requirements;
- improvements to the operation of the Online Store;
- the introduction of new services or payment methods;
- changes to shipping procedures or business operations.
Any amendments shall not affect agreements concluded prior to the effective date of such amendments.
The current version of these T&C shall remain continuously available on the Online Store.
9. Principle of Good Faith and Cooperation
The Seller and the Customer shall exercise their rights and fulfil their obligations in accordance with the principles of good faith and fair dealing.
Both parties shall promptly inform one another of any circumstance that may materially affect the performance of the contract.
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information during the ordering process.
The Seller shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Customer.
10. Governing Law
These T&C and all agreements concluded on the basis thereof shall be governed by the laws of Hungary.
Where the Customer qualifies as a consumer and has their habitual residence in another Member State of the European Union, the application of Hungarian law shall not deprive the Customer of any mandatory consumer protection rights granted under the laws of their country of habitual residence.
Any matters not expressly regulated by these T&C shall be governed by the applicable laws of Hungary and the relevant provisions of European Union law.
II. DEFINITIONS
11. Purpose of the Definitions
The purpose of this section is to establish uniform definitions for the terms used throughout these Terms and Conditions. Unless the context clearly requires otherwise, any term defined in this section shall have the same meaning throughout these T&C.

20. Natural Material
A Natural Material is any textile fibre of natural origin.
Due to the inherent characteristics of natural materials, minor variations may occur that shall not be considered manufacturing defects, including, but not limited to:
- slight colour variations;
- differences in fibre texture;
- natural pilling;
- minor dimensional variations within normal manufacturing tolerances.
Such characteristics shall not, in themselves, constitute grounds for warranty claims or claims based on defective performance.
21. Product Page
A Product Page is the page within the Online Store containing photographs, descriptions, pricing, sizing, material composition, and other essential characteristics of a specific Product.
22. Shopping Cart
The Shopping Cart is the electronic interface of the Online Store in which the Customer may store selected Products until the order is completed.
The contents of the Shopping Cart do not, in themselves, constitute an order or create a binding contract.
23. Order
An Order is the Customer’s electronic offer to purchase submitted upon completion of the checkout process.
Submitting an Order does not, by itself, constitute acceptance of the offer by the Seller.
24. Business Day
A Business Day means any day that is considered a working day in Hungary, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays established by law.
Unless otherwise specified, all time limits referred to in these T&C shall be calculated in Business Days.

29. Force Majeure
Force Majeure means any unforeseeable event beyond the Seller’s reasonable control that partially or completely prevents or delays the performance of the Contract.
Such events may include, but are not limited to:
- natural disasters;
- war;
- acts of terrorism;
- epidemics or pandemics;
- strikes;
- transportation restrictions;
- governmental or administrative measures; and
- logistics disruptions that could not reasonably have been prevented or overcome by the Seller.
30. Defective Performance
The Seller is deemed to have performed defectively if, at the time of Delivery, the Product does not comply with the requirements of the Contract or applicable law.
The following shall not, in themselves, constitute defective performance:
- minor variations resulting from the natural characteristics of the material;
- colour differences caused by variations between display screens;
- dimensional differences within the permitted manufacturing tolerances; or
- changes resulting from the normal use and natural properties of genuine cashmere.
Further provisions relating to defective performance are set out in the relevant sections of these T&C.
III. USE OF THE ONLINE STORE AND THE PURCHASING PROCESS
31. Use of the Online Store
The Online Store is generally available 24 hours a day. However, the Seller does not guarantee uninterrupted or continuous availability of the Online Store.
The Seller reserves the right to temporarily restrict or suspend access to the Online Store for maintenance, development, security updates, or other technical reasons.
The Seller shall take all reasonable measures to ensure the continuous availability of the Online Store.
32. Conditions of Use
By using the Online Store, the Customer represents and warrants that they:
- have legal capacity or are lawfully represented;
- provide true, accurate, and up-to-date information;
- use the Online Store solely for lawful purposes;
- do not infringe the rights of any third party; and
- do not engage in any activity that may compromise the security or operation of the Online Store, including, but not limited to, automated data collection, unauthorized access attempts, or any activity intended to disrupt the operation of the Online Store.
The Seller reserves the right to refuse service or restrict access to the Online Store if the Customer’s conduct is unlawful, abusive, or contrary to these T&C.
33. Registration
Customers may create a customer account in the Online Store.
Only accurate and up-to-date information may be provided during registration.
The Customer is responsible for keeping the password associated with their account confidential.
The Customer is responsible for all activities carried out through their customer account.
If the Customer becomes aware of any unauthorized access to their account, they shall notify the Seller without undue delay.
34. Guest Checkout
The Online Store allows Customers to place orders without creating a customer account.
Customers purchasing through Guest Checkout are subject to the same rights and obligations as Registered Users, except for services that are available exclusively through a customer account.
35. Product Selection
Customers may freely select Products available in the Online Store.
Adding a Product to the Shopping Cart does not constitute the conclusion of a Contract and does not reserve the Product.
Until the Seller expressly accepts the Order, the Product may be purchased by another Customer.
36. Modifying the Shopping Cart
Before completing an Order, the Customer may:
- add Products to the Shopping Cart;
- remove Products from the Shopping Cart;
- change quantities; or
- cancel the purchasing process.
The contents of the Shopping Cart are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute an Order.
37. Placing an Order
During the checkout process, the Customer shall provide all information necessary for the performance of the Contract.
This includes, in particular:
- full name;
- billing details;
- delivery address;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- selected delivery method; and
- selected payment method.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate and complete.
The Seller shall not be liable for any delay or incorrect performance resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Customer.
38. Order with an Obligation to Pay
The button used to complete the Order shall clearly indicate that placing the Order creates an obligation to pay.
By activating this button, the Customer submits a legally binding offer to purchase the selected Products.
39. Acknowledgement of Receipt of the Order
After the Order has been submitted, the Online Store shall automatically send an electronic acknowledgement of receipt.
This acknowledgement serves solely to confirm that the Order has been successfully received by the Seller’s information system.
The automatic acknowledgement of receipt does not constitute acceptance of the Customer’s offer and shall not be regarded as the Seller’s declaration to conclude a Contract.
40. Formation of the Contract
The purchase agreement is concluded when the Seller expressly accepts the Customer’s Order.
Acceptance may be communicated, in particular, by:
- an order confirmation email;
- a shipping confirmation notifying the Customer that the Product has been dispatched; or
- any other clear statement of acceptance issued by the Seller.
If the Seller is unable to fulfil the Order, the Customer shall be informed without undue delay.
41. Rejection of an Order
The Seller reserves the right to reject an Order, including, but not limited to, the following circumstances:
- the Product is no longer available;
- an obvious pricing error has occurred;
- the Customer has provided inaccurate or incomplete information;
- there is reasonable suspicion of fraudulent or abusive ordering;
- payment has not been successfully completed; or
- fulfilment of the Order is prohibited by applicable law.
Where possible, the Seller shall inform the Customer of the rejection of the Order.
42. Obvious Pricing Errors
The Seller shall take all reasonable measures to ensure that the prices displayed in the Online Store are accurate.
An obvious pricing error is, in particular, a price that clearly and manifestly differs from the Product’s generally expected market value, where the Customer could reasonably have recognised that the price was incorrect.
In the event of an obvious pricing error, the Seller shall not be obliged to sell the Product at the incorrect price.
In such cases, the Seller may:
- cancel the Order; or
- inform the Customer of the correct price, allowing the Customer to decide whether to proceed with the Order.
43. Stock Availability
In exceptional cases, a Product may appear as available in the Online Store due to a technical error even though it is no longer in stock.
In such cases, the Seller shall inform the Customer without undue delay.
The Customer may choose to:
- select an alternative Product;
- wait until the Product is restocked, where applicable; or
- cancel the Order.
If the Customer has already paid for the unavailable Product, the Seller shall issue a refund without undue delay.
44. Modification or Cancellation of an Order
The Customer may request the modification or cancellation of an Order until processing or packaging of the Order has commenced.
Thereafter, any modification or cancellation shall be subject to the Seller’s sole discretion.
Nothing in this section shall affect the Consumer’s statutory right of withdrawal.
IV. PRICES, PAYMENT TERMS AND INVOICING
45. Prices
The prices displayed in the Online Store are retail consumer prices.
Unless otherwise indicated, all prices include the value added tax (VAT) applicable under the relevant legislation but exclude shipping costs and the fees for any optional additional services.
Shipping costs are always displayed during the checkout process before the Customer completes the Order.
The Seller reserves the right to change prices at any time. Any price changes shall not affect Orders that have already been accepted by the Seller.
46. Currency
Depending on the Customer’s location or the selected country settings, the Online Store may display prices in Hungarian Forint (HUF) or Euro (EUR).
The applicable currency shall always be clearly indicated on the Product page, in the Shopping Cart, and during the checkout process.
The contractual purchase price shall be the amount in the currency accepted by the Customer when completing the Order.
47. Taxation
The Seller is a business established in Hungary.
The applicable tax treatment shall be determined in accordance with the Hungarian and European Union legislation in force at the time the Order is fulfilled.
The Seller determines the gross purchase price of the Products in compliance with the applicable Hungarian and European Union tax laws.
48. Accepted Payment Methods
The Seller offers the electronic payment methods displayed in the Online Store from time to time.
These may include, in particular:
- payment by credit or debit card;
- Apple Pay;
- Google Pay; and
- any other electronic payment methods made available in the Online Store.
The availability of payment methods may vary depending on the Customer’s country or technical circumstances.
49. Electronic Payments
Electronic payments are processed by the Seller’s contracted payment service provider.
The Seller does not have access to, store, or process the Customer’s payment card details.
The payment service provider is solely responsible for the secure processing of payment transactions in accordance with its own terms and conditions.
50. Failed Payments
If a payment transaction fails for any reason, the Order shall not be considered paid.
The Seller may suspend the processing of the Order until the full purchase price has been successfully received.
The Seller shall not be liable for unsuccessful payment transactions resulting from system failures of the payment service provider, the Customer’s bank, or any other third party.
51. Payment Security
The Seller reserves the right to carry out security checks if fraud, abuse, or unauthorized use of a payment card is suspected.
For this purpose, the Seller may:
- request additional verification from the Customer;
- temporarily suspend the processing of the Order; or
- reject the Order with reasons where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent or abusive conduct.
The Seller shall take any such measures in accordance with the principles of good faith and proportionality.
52. Invoicing
The Seller shall issue an electronic invoice for each Order.
Electronic invoices comply with the applicable laws of Hungary and shall be made available to the Customer electronically.
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate billing information when placing the Order.
The Seller shall not be liable for any consequences arising from inaccurate or incomplete billing information provided by the Customer.
53. Invoice Corrections
Once an invoice has been issued, it may only be amended in accordance with the applicable accounting and tax legislation.
The Customer shall notify the Seller of any invoicing error without undue delay after becoming aware of it.
54. Retention of Title
Ownership of the ordered Product(s) shall remain with the Seller until the full purchase price and all related payment obligations have been paid in full.
The transfer of risk shall be governed by the shipping provisions set out in these T&C.
55. Obvious Technical Errors
If a technical error occurs during the payment process resulting in an incorrect purchase price being displayed, a duplicate charge, or any other obvious irregularity, the Seller and the Customer shall cooperate in good faith to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Any amounts collected without legal basis shall be refunded by the Seller without undue delay in accordance with the applicable legislation.
V. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
56. Delivery Area
The Seller fulfils Orders placed through the Online Store to the countries designated in the Online Store from time to time.
At the effective date of these T&C, the Seller provides regular delivery services within Hungary and Austria.
The Seller reserves the right to expand or modify the list of delivery countries at any time.
57. Delivery Methods
The available delivery methods are displayed during the checkout process.
The Seller may use different courier services and parcel collection solutions for the delivery of Orders.
The Seller reserves the right to change its logistics partner, provided that such change does not reduce the quality of the service or adversely affect the Customer’s interests.
58. Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are clearly displayed before the Customer completes the Order.
The Seller may offer free shipping above a specified order value or introduce promotional shipping discounts from time to time.
The conditions of such promotions shall be published separately in the Online Store.
59. Delivery Time
The Seller shall process Orders as quickly as reasonably possible.
The estimated delivery time is provided for information purposes only and may be displayed on the relevant Product page, during the checkout process, or in the order confirmation.
Any estimated delivery time is indicative only and may be affected by the operation of the courier service, public holidays, unusually high order volumes, or other circumstances beyond the Seller’s reasonable control.
60. Time of Performance
The Seller shall fulfil the Order in accordance with these T&C and the applicable legislation.
In contracts concluded with Consumers, the delivery of the Product, the transfer of possession, and the transfer of risk shall be governed by the mandatory legal provisions applicable from time to time.
The handover of the Product to the Courier Service shall not, in itself, mean that delivery to the Consumer or the transfer of risk has occurred.
61. Customer’s Obligation to Accept Delivery
The Customer shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that the ordered Product can be successfully delivered.
In particular, the Customer shall:
- provide an accurate delivery address;
- provide a reachable telephone number;
- cooperate with the courier service; and
- accept the delivery personally or ensure that it is accepted on their behalf.
62. Failed Delivery
If delivery is unsuccessful for reasons attributable to the Customer, the Courier Service may offer redelivery or an alternative collection method in accordance with its own procedures.
If the shipment is returned to the Seller, the Seller may contact the Customer to arrange the conditions for reshipment.
Where reshipment becomes necessary due to reasons attributable to the Customer, the Customer may be required to bear the additional shipping costs.
If the Customer fails to accept delivery of the ordered Product for reasons attributable to them and the shipment is consequently returned to the Seller, such failure shall not, in itself, constitute the exercise of the Consumer’s statutory right of withdrawal.
The Seller may make reshipment of the returned Product conditional upon the prior payment of the applicable shipping charges.
If the Customer repeatedly or manifestly places Orders that are not accepted upon delivery without legitimate reason, the Seller may require advance payment for future Orders or, with appropriate justification, refuse to accept future Orders, provided that doing so does not infringe the Customer’s mandatory statutory rights.
63. Damaged Parcels
The Customer is encouraged to inspect the external condition of the parcel upon delivery whenever reasonably possible.
If the parcel appears visibly damaged, the Customer is advised to request that the courier prepares a damage report or otherwise document the damage at the time of delivery.
Damage to the outer packaging does not, by itself, mean that the Product is damaged.
The Customer’s rights in relation to damaged Products are governed by the warranty and statutory remedies provisions of these T&C.
64. Lost Shipments
If a shipment is lost during transit or is demonstrably not delivered to the Customer, the Seller shall investigate the matter in cooperation with the courier service.
Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the Seller may:
- send a replacement Product;
- refund the purchase price; or
- agree on another mutually acceptable solution with the Customer.
65. Transfer of Risk
Where the Customer is a Consumer, the risk of loss or damage to the Product passes to the Customer when the Customer, or a third party designated by the Customer (other than the carrier), takes physical possession of the Product.
Where the Customer independently appoints a carrier that is not offered by the Seller, the risk may pass to the Customer upon delivery of the Product to that carrier in accordance with the applicable legislation.
66. Partial Delivery
Where an Order contains multiple Products and simultaneous delivery is temporarily not possible, the Seller may, after informing the Customer in advance, make partial deliveries, provided that doing so does not cause disproportionate inconvenience to the Customer.
Any additional shipping costs resulting from partial deliveries shall be borne by the Seller unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
67. Force Majeure and Delivery Delays
The Seller shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from Force Majeure events, governmental measures, customs procedures, international logistics disruptions, strikes, or any other circumstance beyond the Seller’s reasonable control.
In such circumstances, the Seller shall nevertheless inform the Customer without undue delay based on the information available.
68. Packaging
The Seller packages all Products with due care appropriate to their nature.
The purpose of the packaging is to protect the Product during transportation.
The appearance of the packaging, including but not limited to the type, colour, protective materials, or promotional elements used, may differ from the illustrations displayed in the Online Store, provided that such differences do not affect the quality, intended use, or value of the Product.
69. Ownership and Delivery of Possession
Possession of the Product is transferred upon delivery.
The rules governing ownership, the transfer of risk, and the legal effects of performance shall be governed by these T&C and the applicable laws of Hungary and the European Union.
VI. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL, RETURNS AND REFUNDS
70. Consumer’s Right of Withdrawal
Consumers are entitled to a statutory right of withdrawal in accordance with the applicable laws of Hungary and the European Union.
A Consumer may withdraw from a contract for the sale of Products within the statutory withdrawal period without giving any reason.
The right of withdrawal applies exclusively to Consumers. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the provisions of this Chapter shall not apply to Customers acting in the course of their trade, business, profession, or independent occupation.
71. Withdrawal Period
The withdrawal period is fourteen (14) days.
The withdrawal period begins on the day on which the Consumer, or a third party designated by the Consumer other than the Courier Service, takes physical possession of the Product.
Where multiple Products are ordered under a single Order, the withdrawal period begins on the day the final Product is received.
Where a Product is delivered in multiple consignments or instalments, the withdrawal period begins on the day the final consignment or instalment is received.
Where a Consumer has purchased multiple Products under a single Order, the right of withdrawal may be exercised in respect of the entire Order or only selected Products.
In the case of a partial withdrawal, the Seller shall refund only the amounts relating to the returned Product(s) in accordance with these T&C and the applicable legislation.
The direct cost of returning the Product(s) shall remain the responsibility of the Consumer, including in the case of partial withdrawal, unless the return results from a defective, damaged, or incorrectly delivered Product.
72. Exercising the Right of Withdrawal
The Consumer may exercise the right of withdrawal by submitting an unequivocal statement expressing their decision to withdraw.
The withdrawal notice may be submitted, in particular:
- through the electronic withdrawal form available in the Online Store;
- by email;
- by post; or
- by using the model withdrawal form attached to these T&C.
Where the withdrawal notice is submitted electronically, the Seller shall acknowledge receipt of the notice by electronic means without undue delay.
The use of the model withdrawal form attached to these T&C is optional.
73. Electronic Withdrawal Form
The Seller provides an electronic interface within the Online Store for exercising the right of withdrawal.
The purpose of this interface is to enable Consumers to submit their withdrawal notice quickly, easily, and unambiguously.
The availability of the electronic withdrawal form does not restrict the Consumer’s right to communicate the withdrawal notice by any other method permitted by applicable law.
74. Return of the Product
Where the Consumer exercises the right of withdrawal, the Product shall be returned or handed over to the Seller without undue delay and, in any event, no later than fourteen (14) days from the date on which the withdrawal notice was communicated.
The return deadline shall be deemed met if the Consumer dispatches the Product before the expiry of the fourteen-day period.
Detailed practical information regarding the return procedure is available in the Returns Policy published in the Online Store. The Returns Policy supplements these T&C and does not amend or override their provisions.
75. Cost of Returning the Product
Unless otherwise stated, the direct cost of returning the Product shall be borne by the Consumer.
Where the Seller offers free returns as part of a promotional campaign, the applicable conditions shall be published separately in the Online Store.
76. Condition of the Returned Product
The Consumer shall only be liable for any diminished value of the Product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the Product.
Inspecting or trying on the Product to the extent reasonably permitted in a traditional retail store shall not, in itself, result in the loss of the right of withdrawal.
Where the Product has been used beyond what is necessary for such inspection and its value has consequently diminished, the Seller may take such diminished value into account to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Detailed provisions relating to the characteristics of premium natural textile Products are set out in Chapter VIII of these T&C.
77. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The statutory exceptions to the Consumer’s right of withdrawal shall also apply to Products sold by Steppe Cashmere.
Should the Seller offer, in the future, any Product or service that is exempt from the right of withdrawal under applicable law, the Seller shall clearly inform the Customer on the relevant Product page or during the ordering process.
78. Refund of the Purchase Price
Following receipt of the Consumer’s withdrawal notice, the Seller shall reimburse all amounts paid by the Consumer without undue delay and, in any event, no later than fourteen (14) days, including the standard delivery costs where reimbursement of such costs is required by applicable law.
Unless the Consumer expressly agrees otherwise, the refund shall be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
The Consumer shall not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
79. Withholding the Refund
The Seller may withhold the reimbursement until:
- the returned Product has been received; or
- the Consumer has provided satisfactory evidence that the Product has been returned,
whichever occurs first.
80. Partial Withdrawal
Where the Consumer exercises the right of withdrawal only in respect of certain Products included in an Order, the withdrawal shall apply solely to those Products.
The remainder of the Contract shall remain in full force and effect.
81. Proper Exercise of the Right of Withdrawal
The Seller fully respects the Consumer’s statutory right of withdrawal.
The Seller reserves the right to take appropriate action, within the limits of applicable law, against any conduct that clearly constitutes an abusive, bad-faith, or fraudulent exercise of the right of withdrawal.
Any such measures shall not affect the Consumer’s mandatory statutory rights.
82. Contact Before Returning a Product
The Seller recommends that the Consumer contact Customer Service before returning a Product.
Doing so may help facilitate a faster and more efficient return process. However, failure to contact Customer Service shall not, in itself, affect the valid exercise of the Consumer’s right of withdrawal.
83. Seller’s Liability for Defective Performance
The Seller shall be liable, in accordance with the applicable laws of Hungary and the relevant provisions of European Union law, for ensuring that the Product conforms to the Contract at the time it is delivered to the Consumer.
The Seller’s liability extends only to defects whose cause already existed at the time of Delivery.
84. Conformity of the Product
A Product shall be deemed to conform to the Contract if, in particular, it:
- corresponds to the Product description published in the Online Store;
- possesses the stated characteristics;
- is fit for its intended purpose;
- complies with the requirements of the applicable legislation; and
- provides the quality and performance that may reasonably be expected of premium textile products of the same type.
85. Statutory Warranty
In consumer contracts, the Consumer is entitled to statutory warranty rights in accordance with the provisions of the Hungarian Civil Code and the applicable mandatory legislation.
Subject to the conditions laid down by law, the Consumer may, in particular, request:
- repair of the Product;
- replacement of the Product;
- an appropriate reduction in the purchase price; or
- withdrawal from the Contract.
The conditions, order of remedies, and limitations governing the exercise of statutory warranty rights shall be determined by the applicable legislation in force at the relevant time.
86. Statutory Product Warranty
In the event of a defect in a movable Product, the Consumer may also exercise statutory product warranty rights in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Under a statutory product warranty claim, the Consumer may request only:
- repair of the Product; or
- replacement of the Product.
The detailed rules governing statutory product warranty claims are set out in the applicable legislation.
87. Reporting a Defect
The Customer shall notify the Seller of any defect without undue delay after becoming aware of it.
To facilitate efficient handling, the Seller recommends that the notification includes:
- the order number;
- the name of the Product;
- a detailed description of the defect;
- photographs, where reasonably available; and
- the Customer’s contact details.
Providing photographs is not mandatory but may assist in the prompt assessment of the reported defect.
88. Investigation of Defect Notifications
The Seller shall assess each defect notification individually.
For this purpose, the Seller may, in particular:
- request additional information;
- request photographic documentation;
- request the return of the Product; or
- arrange for an expert examination.
The purpose of the investigation is to determine whether the reported defect constitutes defective performance under the applicable legislation.
The Seller shall make reasonable efforts to investigate the reported defect as quickly as possible and to inform the Customer of the outcome in an appropriate manner.
89. Natural Characteristics of the Products
Products sold by Steppe Cashmere are premium natural textile products.
The characteristics of natural materials and the related information are set out in detail in Chapter VIII of these T&C entitled “Characteristics of Steppe Cashmere Products.”
When assessing statutory warranty claims, the Seller may also take into account the provisions of that Chapter.
90. Customer’s Duty to Cooperate
The Customer shall preserve the Product in a condition that allows the reported defect to be properly examined.
The Customer shall cooperate with the Seller throughout the investigation process.
Where the investigation cannot be completed due to the Customer’s conduct, the Seller may make its decision based on the information available.
91. Fulfilment of Statutory Warranty Claims
Where a statutory warranty claim is well-founded, the Seller shall primarily fulfil its obligations by repairing or replacing the Product in accordance with the applicable legislation, unless such remedy is impossible or would impose disproportionate additional costs.
When determining the appropriate remedy, the Seller shall take into account:
- the nature of the defect;
- the value of the Product;
- the Customer’s legitimate interests; and
- the applicable legal requirements.
92. Priority of Mandatory Law
The provisions of this Chapter shall be interpreted in accordance with the mandatory consumer protection laws of Hungary and the European Union in force at the relevant time.
Where any provision of these T&C conflicts with mandatory applicable law, such mandatory law shall prevail.
VIII. CHARACTERISTICS OF STEPPE CASHMERE PRODUCTS
93. Purpose of this Chapter
Steppe Cashmere offers premium-quality natural textile products. The purpose of this Chapter is to inform Customers about the characteristics of products made from natural fibres, their intended use, proper care, and the inherent properties resulting from the use of natural materials.
The provisions of this Chapter shall be interpreted together with the other provisions of these T&C, in particular those relating to defective performance, statutory warranty rights, and the Consumer’s right of withdrawal.
94. Steppe Cashmere Products
Steppe Cashmere primarily offers premium-quality cashmere clothing and accessories.
The exact fibre composition of each Product is specified on the relevant Product page.
Unless otherwise stated in the Product description, the designation “100% Mongolian Cashmere” refers exclusively to a Product made entirely from cashmere fibre.
95. Characteristics of Natural Materials
Products sold by Steppe Cashmere are made from natural textile fibres.
By their nature, natural fibres may differ from artificial or synthetic materials.
The Customer acknowledges that minor variations inherent in natural materials may occur and that such variations do not, in themselves, constitute a defect or defective performance.
96. Individual Appearance
Due to the unique characteristics of natural cashmere fibres, minor variations may occur even between Products of the same type.
These variations may include, in particular:
- the character of the yarn;
- the texture;
- the natural appearance of the surface; or
- the individual character of the knit.
Such variations are inherent characteristics of natural materials and shall not be regarded as defects or defective performance.
97. Colour Representation
The Seller shall take all reasonable measures to ensure that the Product images displayed in the Online Store represent the actual colours of the Products as accurately as possible.
However, due to differences in displays, operating systems, web browsers, lighting conditions, and screen settings, the actual colour of a Product may vary slightly from the images shown in the Online Store.
Such differences shall not, in themselves, constitute defective performance.
98. Sizes and Size Tolerance
For each Product, the Seller displays the size or sizes specified by the manufacturer on the relevant Product page.
Detailed size information is also available in a separate size chart within the Online Store, prepared in accordance with the manufacturer’s measurement method.
Due to the natural characteristics of premium textile products, minor variations from the stated measurements may occur.
The manufacturer’s specified size tolerance shall be indicated either in the size chart or on the relevant Product page.
Any size variation falling within the manufacturer’s specified tolerance shall not, in itself, constitute a defect or defective performance.
99. Natural Pilling
Cashmere is an exceptionally fine natural fibre, and light surface pilling may occur during the initial period of normal use.
This is a natural characteristic of cashmere fibres and shall not, in itself, be regarded as a manufacturing defect or defective performance.
With proper care, natural pilling will generally diminish over time.
100. Intended Use
Steppe Cashmere Products are designed for normal everyday wear.
The Customer shall use the Product with the level of care appropriate to its nature.
The Seller shall not be liable for damage resulting, in particular, from:
- improper or unintended use;
- mechanical damage;
- contact with sharp objects;
- exposure to chemicals;
- excessive heat (including radiators or tumble dryers);
- improper cleaning;
- improper storage; or
- failure to follow the care instructions.
101. Care Instructions
To promote the proper use and long-term preservation of its Products, Steppe Cashmere provides detailed care instructions for every Product.
The care instructions are available, in particular:
- on the relevant Product page in the Online Store;
- on the Steppe Cashmere Care page accessible via the QR code printed on the Product’s original hangtag; and
- on the general Steppe Cashmere Care page available within the Online Store.
The Seller recommends that Customers read the care instructions before the first use, cleaning, or storage of the Product.
The purpose of the care instructions is to help preserve the Product’s quality, appearance, and expected lifespan.
102. Application of the Care Instructions
The care instructions published by the Seller provide recommendations and professional guidance for the proper handling and care of the Product.
Where damage to the Product is demonstrably caused by failure to follow the care instructions, improper handling, or inappropriate cleaning, such damage shall not, in itself, give rise to a statutory warranty claim.
103. Hangtag
Steppe Cashmere Products are supplied with an original hangtag.
The hangtag forms part of the Steppe Cashmere brand identity and primarily serves to identify the Product, provide information to the Customer, and enable access to digital Product-related information.
The design, appearance, and content of the hangtag may change from time to time without affecting the quality or authenticity of the Product.
104. QR Code and Digital Information
The original hangtag may contain a QR code.
The QR code may direct the Customer to a digital information page maintained by Steppe Cashmere, which may include, in particular:
- Product care instructions;
- washing and storage recommendations;
- information about the characteristics of cashmere;
- frequently asked questions; and
- other information intended to assist with the proper use of the Product.
The content accessible through the QR code is provided for informational purposes only and does not modify the Customer’s statutory rights or the Seller’s contractual obligations.
105. Original Condition of the Product
The original condition of the Product may include, in particular:
- the Product itself;
- the original hangtag;
- the original packaging;
- any information materials supplied with the Product; and
- any other original accessories provided with the Product.
The Seller recommends that the Customer retains these items until deciding to keep the Product permanently.
106. Removal of the Hangtag
The Customer is entitled to inspect and try on the Product to the extent that would reasonably be permitted in a traditional retail store.
Removal of the original hangtag shall not, in itself, prevent the Consumer from exercising the statutory right of withdrawal.
However, where the removal of the hangtag or any other alteration to the Product demonstrates that it has been used beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning, the Seller may take into account any resulting diminished value to the extent permitted by applicable law.
107. Original Packaging
Steppe Cashmere strives to deliver its Products in packaging that reflects the quality and identity of the brand.
The packaging may include, in particular:
- tissue paper;
- a branded sticker;
- an information card;
- a thank-you card; and
- other packaging elements.
The design and presentation of the packaging may vary between seasons or collections.
108. Packaging Elements
The primary purpose of the packaging elements is to protect the Product, ensure its safe transportation, and enhance the overall brand experience.
Unless expressly stated otherwise by the Seller, the packaging itself does not constitute an essential characteristic of the Product.
Minor variations in the packaging shall not constitute defective performance.
109. Gift Wrapping
Where the Seller offers a gift wrapping service, the detailed terms and conditions of that service shall be published separately in the Online Store.
The use of gift wrapping shall not, in itself, affect the Consumer’s statutory rights.
110. Diminished Value
Where the Consumer exercises the right of withdrawal, the Seller may take into account, to the extent permitted by applicable law, any diminished value of the Product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the Product.
When assessing any diminished value, the Seller may consider, in particular:
- the overall condition of the Product;
- the extent of its use;
- any damage;
- any missing accessories; and
- the impact on the Product’s resaleability.
The amount of any diminished value shall always be determined individually on the basis of objective criteria.
111. Typical Examples of Improper Use
The following, in particular, shall not be regarded as use necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the Product:
- wearing the Product for an extended period;
- using the Product in a visibly worn condition;
- staining or soiling the Product;
- washing or professionally cleaning the Product;
- repairing or altering the Product; or
- placing the Product in a condition that significantly reduces its resaleability.
The existence of any of the above circumstances shall not, in itself, prevent the Consumer from exercising the right of withdrawal but may be taken into account when determining any diminished value.
112. Storage
To help preserve the quality of natural cashmere Products, the Seller recommends that the Customer:
- store the Products in a clean and dry environment;
- protect them from direct sunlight;
- keep them away from moisture; and
- use appropriate protective storage for long-term storage.
Detailed storage guidance is available on the Steppe Cashmere Care page.
113. External Factors
Natural cashmere may be sensitive to certain external influences.
The Seller recommends that the Customer avoid, in particular:
- contact with sharp jewellery;
- friction against hook-and-loop fasteners (such as Velcro®);
- prolonged rubbing against rough shoulder straps or bags;
- the use of aggressive chemicals; and
- inappropriate washing or drying methods.
Damage resulting from such external influences shall not be regarded as a manufacturing defect or defective performance.
IX. COMPLAINT HANDLING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
114. Submission of Complaints
The Seller is committed to handling Customers’ feedback, enquiries, and complaints promptly, professionally, and fairly.
Customers may submit complaints either verbally or in writing.
The Seller recommends that complaints be submitted in writing, as this facilitates faster and more accurate processing.

116. Content of a Complaint
To facilitate efficient handling, a complaint should, where possible, include:
- the Customer’s name;
- the order number;
- the Customer’s contact details;
- a detailed description of the complaint;
- any relevant photographs or supporting documents; and
- the Customer’s preferred resolution.
Submitting an incomplete complaint shall not affect the Customer’s statutory rights but may result in a longer processing time.
117. Investigation of Complaints
Each complaint shall be assessed individually by the Seller.
For the purpose of the investigation, the Seller may, in particular:
- request additional information;
- request photographic documentation;
- request the return of the Product; or
- obtain an expert opinion where necessary.
Throughout the investigation, the Seller shall act in accordance with the principles of good faith, cooperation, and proportionality.
118. Response to Complaints
The Seller shall respond to complaints in writing within the time limits prescribed by the applicable legislation.
Where additional information is required to investigate a complaint, the Seller shall inform the Customer without undue delay.
119. Amicable Resolution
The Seller seeks to resolve any disputes primarily through direct communication and mutual agreement.
To this end, both the Seller and the Customer shall cooperate in good faith and take all reasonable steps to achieve an amicable resolution of the dispute.
120. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Where a consumer dispute cannot be resolved through direct negotiations, the Consumer may initiate proceedings before the competent Hungarian Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body in accordance with the applicable laws of Hungary.
Information regarding the competent ADR body is published by the Seller in the Imprint and on the Consumer Information page.
121. Enforcement by Public Authorities
The Consumer is entitled to contact the competent consumer protection authority or any other competent public authority if the Consumer considers that their rights have been infringed.
This right shall apply irrespective of the provisions of these T&C.
122. Court Proceedings
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these T&C shall, in the first instance, be addressed through negotiations between the Parties.
If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, either Party may refer the matter to the competent Hungarian court having jurisdiction in accordance with the applicable legislation.

In such circumstances, the Seller shall nevertheless make reasonable efforts to keep the Customer appropriately informed.
